Who we are
gili is a gaming press-release directory. We publish studio-submitted and editorial announcements and host public profiles for industry participants. Questions about this policy can be sent to the contact address listed at the end of this page.
Information we collect
- Account data. When you register, we store your email address and authentication identifiers through Supabase Auth. If you sign in with Google, we receive the profile information Google shares with us (such as your name and email).
- Profile data. You may add a display name, slug, bio, social links, and optional contact details visible on your public directory page at
/u/your-slug. - Submissions and claims. Studio press submissions, proposed games, hero images, and studio-claim requests are stored so moderators can review and publish them.
- Technical data. Our hosting providers (for example Vercel and Supabase) may log IP addresses, user agents, and request metadata for security and reliability.
How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Provide accounts, onboarding, and studio submission workflows;
- Publish and moderate press releases and catalog entries you submit;
- Display public profiles and directory listings you choose to make visible;
- Protect the service (fraud prevention, abuse detection, and access control); and
- Improve the site within the limits described here.
Third-party services
We rely on subprocessors to operate gili, including:
- Supabase: database, authentication, and file storage (data hosted in the region configured for our project).
- Cloudflare Turnstile: bot protection on sign-in and password-reset forms. Cloudflare may process technical signals needed to run the challenge.
- Vercel: application hosting and edge delivery.
If we enable Google Analytics (NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_ID), Google may set cookies and collect usage data according to Google's policies. Analytics is optional and only active when that environment variable is set.
Cookies and local storage
- Session cookies. Supabase Auth uses cookies (or equivalent browser storage) to keep you signed in. These are required for authenticated features.
- Theme preference. We store your light/dark/system theme choice locally so the UI renders consistently between visits.
- Recovery flow. A short-lived signed cookie may be set during password reset to gate the reset form.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies. RSS and public catalog pages do not require an account.
Public content
Press releases, games, studios, and directory profiles you publish or approve for display are public and may be indexed by search engines, syndicated via RSS, and listed in our sitemap. Do not submit information you do not want to be public.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and submission data while your account is active and as needed for moderation, legal, or operational purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated profile data by contacting us; some published editorial content may remain if required for the public record or law.
Your choices
You can update profile fields in Account settings, manage submissions under your submissions, and sign out at any time. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data; contact us to exercise those rights.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, row-level security in our database, and role-checked server actions. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password.
Children
gili is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
